The game is polished and I can say it does horror like it should be done.https://youtu.be/OVO9kAVG3hI. Everything a horror Indie game should be! You can tell this game is very polished, and a lot of effort has been put into it. I had to replay the introduction once, and even though I knew everything that was going to happen, I was still on edge the entire time, which is incredible! You can watch my let's play below!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLElbMcLPLI&index=1&list=PLKMxTuqznyPMODHArEogwk4hgzXLSheUmThe graphics in the game are simply superb for an indie game. I mean, the sun in the intro was such a small detail, yet I've never seen a more realistic sun, other than in real life. The story is intriguing and captivating, which many indie games usually fail at. There are a few bugs in the game, but this is expected and in no way detrimental to the gameplay. Occasionally you’ll have white flashes in the game which somewhat kills the immersion, but the game does a great job of pulling you back in. Something else I noticed is that when you can do little jumps, even though you're not supposed to be able to, by crouching and standing back up. This allows to get you over a few obstacles, but since you're not supposed to do that you will either fall out of the map, or ruin a sequence. So don't try! And hopefully the developer will fix this in a patch! Now go get the game!!. Nice game even if it is a bit short. What there is of it is well thought out and entertaining. Recommended play and at only $10 you can't go wrong.. Looking for a review for ''STAIRS''? Oh, you 're in the right place... and you 're in for a ride.I loved this game's potential. But for each hour spent playing this i spent two hours trying to make it work. I was determined to ignore the bugs. I almost forced myself to immerse in the story and atmosphere... Hours of tweaking both in-game and on my pc did not fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ glitches. Texture pop up, tearing, falling through the floor CONSTANTLY SHATTER immersion. But i kept soldiering through it. I endured the weird puzzle logic i could not understand even after looking a walkthrough. Cause this game's atmosphere is really good. Then came the ''journal does not update'' bug. Fixed it after long search in forums. Then came the ''camera does not work'' bug. I had to restart game everytime. Then came the ''stuck in random spots'' bug. After 5 minutes flailing around, i could walk again. Then came the ''unresponsive monsters spawn in random spots'' bug. Tried to look it up, and my search revealed only complaints in forums, angry reviews in Steam, and huge Youtube channels encountering GAME BREAKING BUGS making them ABANDON THEIR PLAYTHROUGHS!! I had a miserable time struggling with this garbage. It's great potential was but the bait that kept me going from bad to worse. STAY AWAY - POISON!. This game was on my wishlist for a long time. I finally got on sale it and to be honest I was pretty disappointed with it. Yes, the game had its moments and some minor original ideas, but I didn't exactly enjoy the puzzles and the maze-like path. In fact, I rarely enjoy puzzles in horror games. Often times they, the puzzles, can make the horror feel dull. They often kill it, IMO. I mean who would go around the underground base randomly paint walls with numbers and such to make you unlock a safe that contains a key? Or who goes around placing torn paper pieces of some code inside lockers and on walls for you to open the metal door?? See what I mean it's totally unrealistic and borderline silly. They could have perfectly just put the key somewhere to be found, or the metal door code scribbled down in some maintenance worker's notebook or perhaps in some doctor's diary, and even that would be pretty unrealistic, to be honest. Also, I was bothered much by the fact that you get an awesome flashlight that at some point in the game just disappears without explanation and gets replaced by an ugly black and white, but more white than black night shot camera mode which sucks and kills the atmosphere that otherwise is pretty good and chilling. Still, I was expecting a totally different game. At times it was scary but also tedious and towards the end, it felt much like a mess to me. In the end, it didn't bring much new to the table and just I couldn't wait to finish it and move on. Sadly, I cannot exactly recommend this game.. BEST GAME EVER!. The amateurish quality is forgivable. The tedious and non-challenging gameplay is forgivable. The somewhat predictable twists are forgivable. With those flaws alone, it could've been a charming little indie title worth checking out if on sale. However, you may encounter one of multiple game-breaking bugs that make it impossible to proceed, and they aren't likely ever going to be patched.. good game but can be buggy in places.. I enjoyed the Stairs. Story was a bit confusing but once I put two and two together at the end it turned out to be a wonderful game. Had quite a few scares definitely worth it if you want to get a few jump scares. Story is actually very grabbing at the end once you get the whole idea.
